I went on IG for the first time in like three months for my Taste Georgia account and deleted it within an hour. The only benefit was seeing that guy call for a cookbook photographer in Georgia. Otherwise it was gross. Ive definitely lost my reach, but I don't really care anymore.

I get it! I think being beyond caring is a point I've not achieved yet.

SAME! I deleted it 2 weeks ago and it's like a weight has lifted. I might never go back!

I struggle not to open IG. I feel guilty for not posting there, but in the other hand, what’s the gain? Take care of you this holiday and your foot and can’t wait to see your photos taken on the old camera. I’m deleting my ig for the rest of August. It’s an irresistible time suck.

I think we should just let go of the guilt of not posting, everywhere. They say consistency is key here but hey, you do what you can. Good luck and enjoy August!

You should definitely let go of any platform that makes you unhappy. I guess I am bringing more years to this conversation, but I just see Instagram as one more fleeting way in which I can tell stories if I feel like it. You might be too young to remember them, but I used to make a living writing for magazines. ;) When many of my colleagues complained at the time that the death of print magazine was the end of world, I simply adopted any and all platforms that came my way. I had an award winning blog (now practically dormant); Facebook was a huge way I grew my business (who uses that anymore?). YouTube, Twitter, etc. I was there. The only thing that remains constant is that I am still telling stories. For now I LOVE Substack, both as a place to express myself as well as a place to read newsletters like yours. But I also know that I'm just parked here temporarily. Substack will, I am sure, eventually disappear or morph into something else. But the urge to tell stories, whether it's through words, images or movies, will still be with me. So just keep telling stories, like you have always done, and you'll be ok. ❤️

Fully share your feelings of disappointment for the way instagram has evolved. I also joined to look at art and pictures and now cannot stand the neverending flow of ads. Which means I look at it much less, and almost stopped posting.

Enjoy your Greek vacation!
